History of Emy-land

In 2014, after 4 years of volunteering in Kenya, children's voices caught the attention of Emely Geuze while passing by. The voices came from a small, dark and damp room. This room was used as a classroom where many children were being taught by a teacher from the local church.

That image prompted Emely to use her talents. A piece of land was bought on which the first part of the school could be built. A school with classrooms where the children could get enough light, space and fresh air. Besides education, Emy-land now had the opportunity to provide these children with food and above all, God's Word.

Emy-land has grown into a complete primary school. A new lot was bought in 2019. Within six months the new part of the school was built. This ensures that Emy-land takes care of 418 children every day. They are taught by 12 teachers and have access to 11 classrooms, a kitchen, 2 toilet blocks, 2 schoolyards and a central area.

Mission of Emy-land

The mission of Emy-land is to prepare children for an independent future based on the Bible. Besides education, we provide the Emy-land children with daily food.

“Together we make children's dreams come true, based on faith, hope and love”.

Vision of Emy-land

By developing the Kenyan children in their own environment and according to their own culture, we contribute to a future-proof living environment in which these children can become self-sufficient for their families, relatives and friends and pass on the Christian faith.
